Kodea NGO has taken a significant step by joining the TeachAI Advisory Board, becoming the only Chilean organization to do so. This global initiative, launched by Code.org, is driven by several key organizations in the fields of education and technology, with the aim of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into educational systems in an ethical and effective way.
With this move, Kodea strengthens its commitment to educational transformation in the region by participating in a platform designed to provide guidance to governments and educational systems on how to prepare students for a future where AI will play a central role. It also ensures that teachers have the resources and knowledge to teach about this tool responsibly.
This incorporation positions Kodea as an international leader in educational innovation. The TeachAI Advisory Board brings together global experts to create resources that prepare educational systems for the challenges and opportunities of AI. According to Claudia Jaña, Manager of Education and Future Workforce, “Being part of this select group will allow us to influence the global conversation about the future of education, ensuring that the realities of Latin America and the Spanish-speaking world are represented.”
Claudia Jaña adds that this collaboration will facilitate the adaptation of international best practices to the specific needs of the local context, creating a bridge between emerging technology and the reality of public schools. This will enable teachers and students to harness the opportunities that AI offers, fostering ethical, creative, and critical learning.
Since its inception, TeachAI has developed resources and guides for educators and policymakers, helping them integrate AI into learning in a responsible manner. The initiative has focused on empowering both teachers and students to use these technologies ethically and effectively, preparing them for a future where AI will be an integral part of society.
The TeachAI Steering Committee is made up of key leaders in education and technology from influential organizations such as Code.org, ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education), Khan Academy, ETS (Educational Testing Service), and the World Economic Forum. The Advisory Board consists of 93 organizations worldwide, highlighting the importance of aligning with global best practices.
